Yes and no. There’s not always an easy answer to this question. Sometimes the state test can prove to be an effective and very helpful measure defining strengths, weakness’ and comprehension level of the materials they’ve studied. This information is helpful for teachers and administrators to understand more clearly what classes and curriculum could help your child flourish.
However, there’s always the consideration that your child may test well due to nervousness or easy distraction, even if they are a great student in their day to day schoolwork.
I believe that it’s important for schools to consider each child independently alongside any testing given.
